NATO Secretary General considers Armenia good partner

The head of Armenian mission to NATO Armen Yedigaryan presented credentials to NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen.
NATO Secretary General highly appreciated current level of cooperation and said he considers Armenia a good partner.
He also recalled his meeting with President Sargsyan in Brussels. Rasmussen highly assessed Armenia’s contribution to maintaining peace in Afghanistan, noting authorities’ recent decision to increase the number of Armenian troops in the country. He stressed importance of elaboration of a reviewed program within the framework of Armenia-NATO Individual Partnership Action Plan. Armen Yedigaryan noted that Armenia continues close cooperation with the alliance based on all signed agreements with NATO and partner states. As to increase of Armenian troops in Afghanistan, the issue remains on the agenda, he added. Armen Yedigaryan presented current situation in the Karabakh peace process and normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations.
